Not everyone needs – or wants – to pay out year after year for Microsoft Office. If you’re a single user looking to run the core Office apps on a single Windows PC or Mac, then Microsoft Office Home 2024’s 1-PC lifetime license should appeal. While its features are frozen at the time of release, unlike Office 365, Office Home 2024 is more than powerful enough for most people’s needs.

Your money buys you four core Office components: Word 2024, Excel 2024, PowerPoint 2024 and OneNote 2024. They all sport a sleek new iteration of the modern ribbon interface based on Fluent Design principles, delivering a simple, uncluttered and consistent user experience. The apps all offer improved accessibility tools, support for the latest OpenDocument (ODF) 1.4 format, and allow you to insert images directly into documents from your Android phone.

Word 2024 promises improved file recovery tools if it closes unexpectedly. Excel 2024 also adds support for referencing Dynamic Arrays, so when you add new data to a dataset, the chart automatically updates. There are also 14 new text and array functions, a new IMAGE function for pulling images from the web into individual cells and improvements to how Excel handles multiple workbooks to deliver better performance and fewer hangups.

PowerPoint 2024 adds a new ‘Present with cameo’ feature, which lets you add a live camera feed to a slide and apply the same effects you would to other elements, such as transitions, styles, and formatting. A new Record tab improves your ability to record PowerPoint presentations – it lets you record from the beginning of the presentation or from the currently selected slide; you can also capture your video presence, voice, and ink gestures. There are also tools for adding closed captions and subtitles to all audio and video files in your presentation. See the "What's New in Office 2024" on the Microsoft website for detailed information.

Note: Microsoft Office Home 2024 doesn’t include Outlook 2024. You need Home & Business 2024 if you want Outlook.

Office Home 2024 includes a 1-device license for one Mac or PC that never needs to be renewed.

How To Download

Microsoft only supplies your Office 2024 download after you redeem your Office 2024 key. To do this, go to https://www.office.com/setup, enter your new product key and either login to your Microsoft account or create a new one.

Performance Issues?

Most system performance issues are often a result of other software clashing with your brand new software. For instance, security software can clash with a background process, such as a system maintenance tool or defragmentation software. Another cause of system slowdown, is a result of two software applications performing a similar task. As an example, Windows includes a firewall switched on as a default. Your new security suite is likely to include a firewall. You only need one firewall running. In this example, try turning off your system firewall.

Uninstalling Your New Software

Occasionally you may need to either temporarily or permanently remove your new software.

On a Windows computer, go to the Control Panel and choose Programs and Features. Locate the program within the list, then click it to highlight it. Finally, click the Uninstall button at the top of the list and follow the instructions to remove the program from your PC.

On an Apple Mac computer, using Finder, locate the Applications folder. Within the Applications folder, find the name of the application you wish to remove. Simply drag the icon to your Trash icon in your dock. Empty the Trash to remove the files from your computer.

Still Having Problems?

If you cannot solve your system performance issues or are struggling to remove your software, we advise contacting the software manufacturer. If you placed an order, see the section in the order which states Support options. Alternatively, go to the Contact Us page to contact store support directly.
