Is this Windows 11 home license a OEM or a retail type ? Can I transfer this license to a new PC is my original Pc is damaged?
Pros:
License type ?
Cons:
Can it be used on another PC if original PC is damaged ?
software.pcworld.com Reply:
All Windows licenses are 1-PC (originally described as OEM). You can't migrate to a brand new PC (only the full blown 'Retail' edition allows this from the Microsoft Store), but you can change system components and update your PC hardware if something on your PC fails.

I've already installed Windows 11 without a product key. Will this require me to re-install, or will I also get the product key separately so that I can just register the key?

Hi Trevor, if you have Windows 11 installed, you simply need the license provided with the order to activate. You can, as you rightly say, just use the key provided.

Windows is not region-restricted (nor is Office 2024). You can activate and use it anywhere.

The license won't dictate language change. Windows handles this itself. Yes, you can choose any language within Windows 11.

I purchased the Windows 11 Home version online using a very old (10+) year- old computer and got my license key for the version but when I tried to use Windows media creation tool to make my thumb drive to install Windows 11 Home on my new build which is brain dead at the moment all I got was a error code. After hours of communication with support which was great their final work around was to track down a friend with a Windows 10 or 11 computer and try to creat the thumb drive with it. Wish I had bought a version that shipped a thumb drive to your house ready to go.
Pros:
Simple Payment and purchase Methology.
Cons:
Thumb drive creation a nightmare

Thanks Robert. Yes, creating the USB on an old old (Windows 7) PC can be tricky as it checks the system to see if it can be upgraded first. But that's nearly always a TLS issue which can be fixed. Or build it on a Windows 10 or 11 PC as you've suggested.
