Windows 10 has matured into a fantastic modern operating system and there's never been a better time to move up from Windows 7 or 8 to the latest OS.

Windows 10 Professional includes features of Windows 10 Home, plus important business functionality for encryption, remote log-in, creating virtual machines, and more. Get fast start-ups, a familiar yet expanded Start menu, and great new ways to get stuff done, plus innovative features like an all-new browser built for online action and Cortana, the more personal digital assistant.

What Windows 10 Professional enables you to quickly connect to another 'domain', whether this is your business or school to use network files, servers, printers, and more. Ideal for taking your work on the road when you still need access to the office network. Professional also gets additional security with BitLocker to help protect your data with encryption and security management. Best of all, create and host virtual machines using Hyper-V, which is ideal for testing new software or, if you're a developer, how your software performs on a brand new fresh OS.

Windows 10 is designed to go with you seamlessly from one device to another. It's fast and responsive. You even get free chat or phone support from real people. With Windows 10, it's easier than ever to do great things.

Multi-task like a master with the ability to snap four things on the screen at once. Screen getting crowded? Create virtual desktops to get more space and work with just the items you want. Plus, all your notifications and key settings are collected on one easy-to-reach screen.

What was new in Windows 10, when it was released? The OS brought back the Start Menu, though with a twist: live tiles keep you up-to-date with the latest news while also providing an easy way to launch apps. (Don't worry if you prefer the Start Screen, it's still there and you can boot into it if you prefer.)

When you buy Windows 10 Professional, you'll be presented with the latest ISO which offers you the very latest November 2019 update.

Performance Issues?

Most system performance issues are often a result of other software clashing with your brand new software. For instance, security software can clash with a background process, such as a system maintenance tool or defragmentation software. Another cause of system slowdown, is a result of two software applications performing a similar task. As an example, Windows includes a firewall switched on as a default. Your new security suite is likely to include a firewall. You only need one firewall running. In this example, try turning off your system firewall.

Uninstalling Your New Software

Occasionally you may need to either temporarily or permanently remove your new software.

On a Windows computer, go to the Control Panel and choose Programs and Features. Locate the program within the list, then click it to highlight it. Finally, click the Uninstall button at the top of the list and follow the instructions to remove the program from your PC.

On an Apple Mac computer, using Finder, locate the Applications folder. Within the Applications folder, find the name of the application you wish to remove. Simply drag the icon to your Trash icon in your dock. Empty the Trash to remove the files from your computer.

Still Having Problems?

If you cannot solve your system performance issues or are struggling to remove your software, we advise contacting the software manufacturer. If you placed an order, see the section in the order which states Support options. Alternatively, go to the Contact Us page to contact store support directly.

Pros: Full retail key, lowest price I have seen.
Cons: None
Usually I stay away from deals that seems too good to be true. But since this is from PCWorld, I decided to give it a try and bought a pro license to upgrade my laptop's home license. It worked without a hitch and so I bought a second license to upgrade my desktop and that also worked perfectly.

Thanks Rajesh, appreciated. And we're always here for you on the store Live Chat if you need us!

Pros: If it's the full version, is a great deal.
Cons: None
I noticed the price is on sale as $39.99 marked down from $89.99, I see it costs $89.99 to 99.99 just for the upgrade version. So is this the full version for even clean installs?
software.pcworld.com Reply:
$89.99 is our regular 'non-promo' price. You can use Windows 10 Professional (which is a retail activation code) to either create a fresh new install or upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 Professional or 10 Home to 10 Professional.

Pros: Great price
Cons: None
I have a question, is this key tied to the same computer that it was installed on, or can I reinstall it on a different computer if the original computer dies?
software.pcworld.com Reply:
As it's a retail code, once it's in your Microsoft Account (through the original Windows 10 activation), you should be able to then migrate to another PC later, login with your account and activate (this will then disable your old PC)

Pros: Good deal
Cons: None
If I am using an un-activated version of windows 10 and I buy this will it work?
software.pcworld.com Reply:
For sure Troy. It's just a standard retail Windows 10 Professional code, so you can drop it in to any Windows 10 to activate

Pros: Really good deal at $40, fast key delivery
Cons: None
Normally, I'd be skeptical to see a Windows 10 key for sale for so cheap, but seeing it was from PCWorld I trusted it as a reputable source since I've been reading their articles online for years now. I bought one for a new build and received the key pretty much immediately after checkout and everything worked perfectly!

Thanks for the kind words Jonathan. Appreciated.

Pros: Excellent deal
Cons: None
If I'm looking to upgrade my Win 7 64 bit desktop to win 10 pro, do I need a fresh install and if so, how to do it?
software.pcworld.com Reply:
With this Windows 10 Professional, you can either have the option to create a full fresh install OR use it to upgrade from Windows 7/8 to 10 or from 10 Home to 10 Professional. The choice is yours.

To upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro, you don't need to do a fresh install. All you need to do is run the supplied Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and upgrade. You'll keep all your software, files, folders and other data. Just the operating system is updated.
